Welcome to language arts! We’re going to have a great year together! Our curriculum is an integrated literature and language program that will guide you to:

• Read literature independently and critically
• Respond to literature thoughtfully and effectively, in writing and orally
• Express yourself clearly, concisely, and effectively in different types of writing
• Learn and apply rules of grammar, mechanics, and language usage to improve your writing and communication skills
• Develop productive study skills and approaches to critical thinking
