The DEN-Reintroduction

As we start year 2 of The DEN, we want to give a quick reintroduction. The Devils' Essentials Nook aka The DEN works in collaboration with Mercer County Food Bank and the Sharpsville community at large. We wanted all students to have the essential items they need to keep their minds focused and to thrive at school. At the high school and middle school, The DEN will be stocked with dinner food items, personal care items, clothing, and provides snacks for our after school programs and athletes. It's a space not just for students in need, but any student with a need. It's available when someone forgets to pack a snack to eat before practice, and when someone doesn't have anything at home for dinner. It's available when someone needs shampoo, and also when someone forgets to brush their hair in the morning. At the elementary school, weekly bags, known as the Blue Devil Bag, will be sent home to help get families through a few meals. Clothing, personal care items, and dinner food items are also available, but are accessed by staff on behalf of their students.
